Wildflowers are often planted by harsh circumstances. Yet, they find a way to bloom and flourish wherever they may land. You can, too.
Our focus is to help adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families heal, grow, and become aware of their inner strengths. We believe in providing supportive, collaborative treatment that is informed by our belief in healing, resiliency, and the power that each of us holds inside ourselves to grow and change.
Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. We believe the change process occurs best in a safe environment built on respect, sensitivity, and encouragement. Therapy is a tool that can help you to cultivate a sense of meaning, self-worth, resiliency, and fulfillment in your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, you can recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. In treatment, you can overcome these symptoms and receive guidance through the process of grief and healing.
Humans are driven towards relationships that meet our needs for belonging, companionship, and love. Sometimes a relationship needs more support and guidance to meet these needs. Learning how to communicate, connect, and resolve conflicts in treatment can repair current relationships or help those who want to cultivate and build positive relationships.

I've lived in Wisconsin all my life and love the beauty of each season. My interests include hiking and taking nature photography. All the photographs featured on this website were taken by me and I'm pleased to share them here with you.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which is somewhat of a misnomer, because what I actually do is something called Systems Therapy. Systems therapy works by looking at each part, or system, in one’s life. Putting together the parts helps to create a whole picture of who each person is through their experiences, perspectives, connections, skills, needs, and goals. When a client engages in therapy with me, we work together to form a whole picture of their experiences and needs by discussing and exploring their unique systems. Such systems may include past and current physical and mental health, family and social relationships, and community ties. No one lives in a vacuum, and each of these systems can have a positive or negative affect on a client's mental health.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, 200hr Registered Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher and former School Counselor. I am also a Yoga Therapist and Developmental & Relational Trauma Therapist (DARTT) in training. I use a holistic counseling approach which allows me to gear supports to each individual's specific needs. I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic/body-centered therapies, trauma informed care, acceptance and commitment therapy, yoga therapy and mindfulness techniques.
I believe in being relational and breaking down the stigma attached to mental health issues. I have worked in schools, nonprofit organizations and community centers to expand access to care. I conduct therapy to ages across the lifespan in person or over telehealth. In addition, I have provided consultation and training for schools and organizations in the area of social emotional learning and trauma informed practices to better support employees and/or the people they care for.
In addition to practicing yoga; I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside with my dogs, traveling, attending Badger football games and reading. In summer, I co-lead a local camp to empower adolescent girls called Girl’s Stories, Girl’s Voices. I also offer accessible yoga for individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and mental health concerns to improve behavioral regulation and emotional intelligence.
Ultimately, my passion lies in helping children, adolescents and adults overcome personal challenges and tap into their own resiliency in order to live healthy and peaceful lives. Life is hard enough, take a break from the noise. You deserve it!

While change may be uncomfortable at times, through compassion I utilize a growth mindset in supporting my clients - the belief that we may not be where we want to be… yet. I believe we all have times in our lives when we can benefit from additional support. With over 23 years of comprehensive professional counseling experience working with families and children ages 4 years and up, I see my role as a compassionate advocate. I am a team member in the process of change and growth, encouraging persistence with the understanding that we learn most through the challenges we face. These challenges are both important and necessary for learning, growing, and healing. I empower, encourage, and assist clients throughout their journey of healing. I believe my clients are capable of leading the lives they desire as we work together with a holistic and client-centered approach to best meet their needs. Through empathy and validation we’re able to create a treatment plan for lasting change and life-long skills with the goal of increasing client’s self-awareness and use of healthy coping skills to support healing. With an additional school counseling background, I have a unique perspective and expertise regarding child development, the school system and school based expectations. My strengths include working with families who have a child who may struggle with focus, attention, self-regulation, coping skills, stress and anxiety, bullying and assertiveness skills, family changes, and self-esteem, particularly when these issues are interfering with a child’s learning. We work together to empower them to use their energy in positive and productive ways. Specific counseling strategies include: cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral strategies, brief solutions-focused strategies, as well as mindfulness and relaxation strategies. I also incorporate non-traditional therapeutic strategies to support clients in making mind/body connections.

"There are two clients in the world: Those looking for a safe place to fall apart and those looking for help in putting their lives back together."
My name is Lisa O'Donnell, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin who holds additional licensures in school psychology, and I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I am particularly passionate about supporting others going through difficult transitions and those going through grief and loss. While these are key focus areas, I also see clients with a wide range of other needs who are looking for a safe space to talk and feel. I offer therapy to children, adolescents and adults seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
I strive to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how their experiences have impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling. With a down-to-earth, personable nature, I use techniques that help promote growth, instill hope, and explore possibilities for change.
I have a trauma-informed lens and use approaches primarily from the humanistic and person-centered theories. I integrate evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness practices. I have additional certifications in grief counseling and conflict mediation, and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) psychotherapy.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy exploring different creative avenues and spending time with my family. I love going on adventures and completing side quests. I also try to do as much yoga, hiking, reading, and writing as I can. These interests reflect my belief in balance and self-discovery, values I encourage in my clients as well.
